How interesting it is to see that following the dragons den program whereby they advised the chef to secure his domain name that the .co.uk domain was secured on 18 August 2008!

Is this somebody being shrewd and hoping for a windfall

he could swipe that from them easy, unless they too have that name and are not using it with intent or have bought it with intent to deprive him. Not difficult to work it out though, given the date!

Yep as said above registering a domain name is nothing, they are cybersquatting and Nominet will just take ot off them.

I have dealt with nominet a few times and in my experiences they are brilliant .

wasnt it big business a while back to 'carpet bag' and register domains in the hope of them being bought for vast sums?

It can still be done although 'technically' domain warehousing for specualtion is against the T&C.

The idea was good, but their execution was sluggush.
That is a tough market they are trying to crack - but as ever with companies on Dragons Den - good on them for trying.
