Smile Hi! Please help my construction business!

I have a question to ask people about how to get more work for my business.
I have been the manager of a construction company for over 20 years. We specialise in dry rot, rising damp control, timber treatment, structural repairs and basement tanking. I have advertised in numerous ways over the years, mainly returning to yellow pages time and time again. However, I really want to get better jobs in, both in quality and quantity. The jobs I mainly want to be involved with on a full time basis is structural repairs and basement tanking, although anything to do with damp works is also what I am seeking.
Is there any thoughts about how to attract this type of work? I have put a website together, sign written my van, advertised in the yellow pages etc for years (most recently rated tradesmen) , but what I really want are the jobs in basement tanking. I am a bit clueless on how to do this. It is frustrating for me as I have years and years of experience and me and my team can do the job ten times better and more efficiently then the competitors!
Any thoughts?
Thanks

hi there,

just a few thoughts........

have you built good relationships with the local authorities and planning officers and local arcitects?

i would def be targetting these people and getting your name "known" so that if they need someone, your name is instantly in the forefront of their mind.
Become a source of excellence for this type of work.....
Re: Basements.... by submitting an article written in a way of giving advice to people considering this, and not a blatant advert for your company, and having before and after photos....maybe link the story in with the housing slump at the moment....newspapers with a "housing " section would be a good start....

Def SEO your website, so you are on page 1......there are lots of threads on here to help you ....

also the words "basement tanking" had me scratching my head.(im a bit thick so that isnt surprising)......but maybe really publicising the benefits to the customer, eg....more living space - right under your noses....

also maybe an article on the problems that damp can cause people with allergies eg asthma......babies.......

if you want to put the link up to your site, then the SEO experts can have a look and give you some advice.........

this post probably doesnt help much, but may help get you some more replies to your post.........
