I read an article yesterday about the new 'in thing' for team building.
Whilst it used to be climbing up ropes and crossing streams Corporate Cookery seems to becoming popular.
The idea is to combine learning how to cook for and entertain clients whilst helping employees get to know each other, communicate better and work more efficiently as a team. Sounds great fun but it looks like it may be pricey.
Has anyone been on anything like this with their business? I would be interested to hear if it was worthwhile or if people classed it as just a free day off work.
Thanks for your input

People often confuse team building with muddy fields and rafts. Real team building is something very different. You need to establish - or seek advice to establish - what you are trying to achieve.
You may want something collaborative, competitive or challenging or a combination. Establish your desired outcomes, consider the mix of people. If you pick something that involves physical exersion who might you be excluding?
I was taught how to cook the books at a very young age.
Not that I ever would.

Ha ha!!
I personally like the idea of the cookery class. It sounds fun and not very physical but then again I enjoy cooking anyway - some people may find it the most boring thing in the world.

Why don't you simply hire a professional cook. Also you need a good premises. Team buildings are usually pricey, so it is better not to do it at all, if you are cost sensitive toward team building.
