would appreciate some help with this myself. Got my web designer telling me he can't give me what I want and that inserting images into Joomla requires coding??? Can you not just slice up images and insert them like you do in other web design programs? Some developer help would be great...does anyone know of some really good video tutorials to get me started?

Not the case. It's all wysiwyg like this.

Our Skype based one on one Joomla training is very popular. You could also grab our Joomla Help Docs (version 1.0). There are also video tutorials for 1.0 here. If you are using Joomla 1.5 there's stuff on YouTube.
