Hiya, searching for previously registered marks/text is free on IPO - click the relevant link under 'Find trade marks.
You highlight my biggest gripe/query at the time - haven't checked if it's changed lately .. it can take about 6 months for the mark to fully complete the process - with no complications .. in which time the mark isn't protected .... but, the protection is back dated to the application date once registration is approved.
I had a very nice Businesslink man walk me through everything & submission .. it's made to sound quite daunting but isn't too bad
The online application and payment is very effective and good. And gets logged and registered straight away. I would advise this way.
Also think about what classes you want, because a class that you are planning expanding into in the future can be applied for now for £50, whereas later a new application will need to be made and that will cost you £200 again.
I think Crossguard charges about £200 for the application process if you want advice. He did us well when we had an objection lodged.
