I have used Gumtree on several occasions. I have always had a very good response especially with the Bookkeeping business. Gumtree's listing on a Google search ranked it as 4th. I had several responses and succeeded in getting a few accounts.

The one problem I did find was that most people wanted the work done but did not want to pay, or pay very little.

Hi Steve

Unfortunately I really don't have much to add, though I did use The Gum Tree around 6-7 years ago and it was a bit different then... though seemed to be working well (it was completely free at the time).

I'd think it depends on what you would use it for. Covers a very broad range so a bit hard to give an opinion as to whether it might be suitable for you.

I was using gumtree before and I can't see no effect
on my client's traffic. Craigslist and classifieds.com
are good source of traffic for me
