Since you were all so helpful last time I used this site, I thought I'd give it another go!
Just wondered if anyone knew of any grants for investment in new technology for a very small business?
We are a small engineering company and looking for a grant of about 6k for upgrading our current Autocad software. I have contacted our local Business Link and waiting for a reply, but just thought you guys might have some ideas.
I know of nothing national. Quite often these days, funding is tied to the your regional develpment office (RDA) which your local BL should know about anyway.
Try the site j4b.co.uk to search for all types of business related grants and funding in general.
Don't forget to hit your local authority website as well. Mine (and at least a few others that I know of) have such schemes going.
Something to take note of however, is that for small grants the time taken to apply for them is sometimes so great it's cheaper to live without, if you see what I mean.
It is the job of your BL advisor to know about all available funding including that of the LA so make sure you cover that, good point Simon. LEGI money, which many councils have won in the millions, is also available.
Just remember though, all funding has a criteria. It is not for everyone and not everyone can have it.
