Small Busines Rate Relief

I have just received an email from my local Chamber of Commerce with this bit of news:

There is currently £250 million of unclaimed Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR) across the UK that will be lost if it is not claimed by 30th September 2008.

Large and small businesses can claim up to £1,000 a year off their business rates bill with the Small Business Rate Relief. This is because SBRR entitlement is based on your rateable value and location not on your turnover or number of employees.

It’s simple to check if you are eligible for SBRR, contact your local Council.

The domain is registered to a Surveyor company. Are you sure they aren't then going to try and sell you stuff once they have your details?

I don't know, this is just a link they gave to check eligibility.

You would claim it yourself direct though.

I will remove that link and advice people to phone their local council instead!
