Default Online Demonstrations

I'm finding myself increasingly frustrated when trying to explain to clients something I can see in their adwords accoutn of on the website etc.

I'd like to be able to fire up some software that allows us both to see what I am looking at on my screen.

The closest thing I have come across so far is gotomeeting.

I want something that my clients don't have to buy and install software.

I remember a presentation given to me a couple of years ago by a sales person from salesforce.com and it was slick. He sent me an email with a link. I clicked on the link at the arranged time and I was able to watch an online presentation that he was controlling. He was also able to jump to other applications on his PC and demonstrate those. Very slick.

Anyone use anything like this successfully?

Thanks
Mike

Mike - in the past I have used Glance which I found to be very good. They are not a big player like GotoMeeting and Webex, but at $50 per month I think it is quite a bit cheaper than them. They offer a free 7 day trial. No software is required on your client's computer just access to a browser. The client just has to login to your Glance session through a 4 digit pin.

Unfortunately, I don't think Glance offer a PAYG scheme so if your online demos are only planned occasionally this may not be economical for you. It may be worth contacting them though. In my dealings with them I found them to be very customer-focused so they may do something for you.

Looking further at the their website, it appears they are so confident about their product that they actually provide a full index with links to all of their competitors which if nothing else is a useful base to browse for others that you may want to look at.

Hope that helps,
Peter

Do you know that they are actually more expensive that gotomeeting but they do have the advantage of offering 100 attendees to a meeting whereas gtm only allows 15.

I think they were when I last looked at them a couple of years ago but they are now $49 a month.

Maybe Glance has been eating into their market.

Mike,

LogMeIn FREE works a treat - and it's free. I used it recently to help a client in Tenerife. Very very effective.

I've got LogMeInFree installed but not had a need to use it as yet.

I can only see 3 items featured on the free list though so which is the function that allows your client to share your screen?

Yes I looked at that.

Gotomeeting is very similar and much cheaper. They only real limitation I see between gotomeeting and gotoseminar is that that later allows upto 100 attendees whereas gotomeeting is limited to 15.

Since I plan mainly to use it on 1 to 1 sessions, gotomeeting will probably be the right choice unless I go for Glance.
