I'm a member of a few local forums as well as national forums like A1 and I just received a message telling me that someone had launched a new site.

Being nosey I always have a look and found an amazing idea. This design studio open their studio for cake eating (in the form of networking) to local businesses. check it out

wow, shame they aren't in Plymouth

We have Crunchie Day's on a Friday at Fuzzydon, shame they are all gone by the time 9'oclock comes

One thing I used to do was hold a Friday Drinks afternoon/evening (by invitation also).

Inviting a mix of prospects and existing clients into our boardroom and reception area, with a subtle promo video going on the boardroom screen... we put on beer, wines & bubbly along with a bunch of fingerfood.

Always worked a treat with everyone mingling (usually 40-50 people), as prospects were meeting existing clients in my offices in a very positive and relaxed atmosphere... and by inviting the right people to mix, people got a good word about us, feel for who we were and it really wasn't hard to bring them onboard from there as clients.

Compared to other marketing & advertising costs, the cost of hosting that was quite small.

I'm sure there will be some sort of food hygiene regulations involved in this type of event enforced by the fun police.....i.e. what if you manage to poison everyone
