Default Trying to find decently priced conference facilities

I'm just pricing an idea at the moment which requires me to find a hall which has the usual conference facilities (projector, screen, etc) and I would only want for a couple of hours maximum.

It's proving to be a real pain to search online.

Hotels seems to want a fortune and insist you take the room for a day (and buy your guests lunch!).

Anyone any ideas how to find such places?

Crawling thru Google is taking ages! Maybe it's my search terms

Ta

Mike

Contact the local council or similar business-rated org's as they often have resource areas for businesses that can provide brochures or price lists.

I used this place once http://www.canalmuseum.org.uk/venue/ - it's a little different to your usual conference venue!

Edit: it's in London, is that where you are looking?

Ta.

It's your fault I'm looking.

Our conversation today has made me think about running some seminars....

I was once a member of a gov run organisation that allowed you to use their facilities for free. I'm not eligible anymore though

Why not do a double whammy and ring Birmingham Chamber (and other ones) and ask a) have they got rooms to hire and b) if not can they suggest members who might have. Whilst on phone, also ask who deals with their event planning .....
