I need to open an account with a courier company, I tried DHL but they need me to have a minimum spend of £500 a month which I can't guarantee - some months I send nothing, other months I send twice that! Any recommendations?

I would have a very open mind with couriers companies and be prepared for a rocky road. Personally i've never met a decent courier firm other than the local boys. National companies suck big time, i've used them all - City Link, Business Post, DHL
The problem is volume, out of 100 parcels the chances are you'll have issues on 5-10% of them, its never the delivered ones you'll remember but the problem ones.
Just yesterday Business Post lost three parcels of mine going to France - now I have a fight on the get compensation!
Out of all the companies i've expereinced City Link seem to be pretty good.

Hi Sarah
We offer a service which is suitable for smaller businesses just starting to send parcels, or larger business who just don't regularly send parcels.
It's a flat rate service of £11 per consignment (50p discount for A1BF members) for all parcels up to 20kg, and with maximum dimensions of 2m in height and 2.7m in girth. (extra weight is priced at 45p per kilo)
It's collected from your premises (by Interlink, who are one of the more reliable carriers), tracked, insured and delivered to your customer by 3pm the next working day. It's a consignment price, so if you are sending several boxes out the the same customer on the same day the prices/rates apply to the consignment as a whole rather than the individual boxes.
You can either choose to pay as you go, or pay monthly.
As it's a flat rate service is suits people better who are sending out middle size to larger parcels, if it's items of less than 2kg then the Royal Mail will always be cheapest.
I hope that this information is useful, please feel free to PM/email or phone me, all details are on the website, on my profile.
