Not sure if this is the right place to put this post but herre goes.
I'm planning to put a phone number onto my site however heres the problem.
1) I don;t work 24 hours a day
2) My work force is in different locations
I want to be able to put one number on the website that we can route to one of us easily and also to an answer machine during out of hours.
The ability to redirect the number quickly and easily is important because we switch who's watching the site quite often (We have a chat box on the site).
Anyone using something like this or care to recommend something like this?
I use an 0845 number from http://www.switchtelecom.co.uk/ it cost £25 per year and can be easily configured through the website.
At the moment I have it set to connect to my home telephone number between 9am and 5pm monday to friday and the rest of the time its anounces that the office is closed and offers voice mail, which routes to my email.
It also includes fax to email and can be diverted to my mobile but I have to pay for the diverted leg of that.
You can also set it to call one number for 10 seconds then try another and another before finaly going to voice mail.
All this is included in the £25 unless you divert to a mobile then you have to pay for the diverted leg of the call.

Do you think people would be put off calling an 0845 number compared to a local area code? Just wondering if I should have both numbers on my business crads.
