Default Do you still use a fax machine?

    Hi all, first post here.

I have a dilemma, do I choose one of those internet fax to email services or get a proper fax machine or do I need a fax altogether?

Which then begs the question, do still use fax's?

    Kind regards to all
    Nick

I tried using efax for a while and found it to be a pain. I have since swapped over to a fax machine and have to say although I don’t use it often it’s certainly easier. You can get a HP Officejet J3680Printer, Scanner, Copier with Fax for about £50.

I do not use a fax. The only problem that gives is with a tiny number of instances, such as the tax office, who do not seem to have email facilities - or to be more correct, will not tax emailed docs. So they have to wait while I post them.

Otherwise, it would be just another piece of kit cluttering the place up.

eFax all the way. Once you use it once you will never go back.

    Cheap and easy.

    Hi,

We have both options available to us in our office (just in case one of them isn't working!).

Our website also has a useful article about what to consider:

    Before Buying A Fax Machine

Must admit though we tend to scan and email more nowadays than fax, but they are still essential for many companies.

    Hope this helps!

I have been using myFax.com at work for about a year very good service, and you get a free fax number. Also only £5 per month. Easy to link with databases and outlook.

Thanks for the input guys! I think I will look at the internet solutions. I don't expect to be doing very much faxing.

On a parallel (and contradictory) thought... Has anyone tried "fax-marketing" to their local business prospects?

I ask as one of my clients regularly get fax-sales letters and they tend to get looked at. Don't know if they respond to them but was just wondering if it was a viable method for advertising your services?

    Kind regards to all
    Nick

I actually send faxes through my PC using the Windows XP built in programme.

Then to receive faxes I am with a company called Faxtastic and this is received via my eMail account.
