    Default Courier Service

I'm currently on the hunt for couriers than can offer a next day/2 day courier service shipping bulky odd-shaped items across the UK.

I'm in talks with all major shipping companies, but wandering if there is anybody here than can offer me a price or knows somebody who knows somebody who does?

    Max parcel dimensions are

    4m x 0.5m x 0.5m

    Weights vary.

Quotes either by PM or below.

    Thanks

Take a look at city same day

Though they specialise in a same day/urgent courier service, but they do of course do any timeframe you require, cover the UK and Europe and have drivers across the UK.

They do IT, medical, pallett and whatever else really. Oh and they are carbon neutral if that helps at all!

James is a nice guy so feel free to call him any time on 01246 410 998.

    Hi Huggy,

I have an account with Tuffnells, they are pretty good and cheap, But you need to book at least a couple of collections a week to make it worth while, or if you have just a few, perhaps i could deliver them for you

    Let me know mate

    Hi Gerry,

Funnily enough we had a bit of a do with Tuffnells - they pretended to be a competitor ringing us up and saying that they wouldnt carry them, even though the actual company said that they would.

Tuffnells also brushed us off because the business is only on paper - but the problem is that unless we get delivery side sorted business would never leave paper.

The problem that we have now is that the courier we have chosen (Night freight) dont want to carry cago as the packing isnt thick enough

    Gah... PROBLEMS!

    God you do have problems

What do they mean, the packing isn't thick enough??

Sometimes i send single sheets of decking via tuffnells, no packing what so ever, just their label.

Getting a regular courier can be hard, i guess they like to pick their customers.

is there not a local courier company that can help you?

No I didn't ring Sandra, for what we are wanting to carry we eventually worked out that no small-item courier would be interested so we looked at Tuffnells/Night Freight/UPS Courier etc...

You would think though that all business is wanted business... clearly not.

Because we would be sending rolls of carpet through their wagons they want a high grade polythene bag for insurance reasons.... Getting the bag is no problem; the warehouse doesnt want to change bagging for us though and we aint buying rolls and rolls of bagging for them.
