Idea

We have just signed up with http://www.ukwebsitequotes.com a new service matching Web Designers with prospective clients.

They target the budget specifically not just sending out any old project to everyone paying on their books.

Seems like a decent idea.

I'll keep you posted.

We signed up with them about a week ago.
So far not even a 'welcome' email let alone any prospective projects.

Ten pounds per lead seems quite competitive as I have heard that Approved Index works a similar system but twenty five pound per lead as long as the leads are properly qualified it seems a bargain,

I cant see anything about this website that would make me part with £1. Never heard of it, there is no proof what, if any, projects they have in, nor what examples of companies that have received projects, values, how often, etc. It is new, so I would be interested to know how they find all these quotes. I mean, how do you know they are not a web design company and not just passing you the naff leads and keeping the better ones for themsleves? They must, after all, be experts themselves, in order to ascertain a matching service. Doesnt explain how they actual match; what criteria they use, etc. They would need a lot of leads to make money on this too.

I did think that but when I looked and noticed there were over 42,000 results for that exact search term "Website Quotes" i thought well people must be typing that into google or mabye Im wrong lol

Still ten pound a lead if the lead is qualified and looking to spend ten pound is worth spending for the contact details Im sure,

New (as it was stated as being new) websites dont get to google page one or No.1 for a very competitive search term quite so quickly. Either it isnt new, or the keywod isnt very competitive to search on.

Another very valid point Indy at least with the approved index site there are many client and customer testimonials to browse and I know they have a waiting list of companies to join but limit them to 6-7 of each category and they have been around for at least two years

A little confused I thought it would be a good place to suggest a new 'different' service. A decent gesture to other Web Designers on the forum.

I've used 'Approved Index' and 'Top Ten quotes.com' in the past and they literally send you any lead they please. Therefore if my minimum spend was £1200 for CMS and I'm based in Essex, they would charge me £20 to send me a lead for a company based on Cardif wanting to spend £500 on a CMS website, without having seen it first.

Wasting my money and the prospective clients time.

The matching is clearly the budget for a particular service that is offered by a designer, therefore you are sent an email when something appropriate comes in, if you like it buy it. As it says there no obligation no upfront charges, and I can't see what there is to lose.

I do agree though that Approve Index have an impressive list of clients, though I'm willing to give this new company a go, if it works it works , if not nothing lost.

You get to see the leads details, budget and location before purchase, thats what makes it 'different', you only compete with a maximum of 3 other designers, its £10 and they have contacted the client to verify the lead.

The website hasn't actually launched yet, and the guy Conrad I've been speaking to seems to know his stuff.
