How to sort out wordpress theme

Have you set up a Wordpress.org site? If you have your host will have given you ftp details, (Host, Username and Password) to use an ftp client to transfer the theme across to your site. (You need to tansfer into wp-content>themes). Filezilla is a good ftp client.
If you haven't set up a site, or if the above makes no sense, I suggest you go to the Wordpress Codex Installation instructions and start there. Even if your host does an auto setup in it's control panel it'll be worth reading.

It looks a lot more daunting than it actually is, just perservere.

it can be really confusing when you first start with Wordpress. I used my hosting company to help me with it as, as soon as within the account it allowed me to deploy Wordpress straight away, they are called vonhost if you fancy checking them out.

Now as far as Themes and FTP, there is a great little (FREE) ftp software package called Transmit which has a little van as the icon. It is really easy to use, it shows you a slipscreen of your desk top and your online Wordpress (live) account, all you have to do then is drag and drop the files (like the Theme) into the WP admin folder in themes, then when you login into your Worpress admin screen

But isn't Transmit for a mac?

in any case the principle is the same as other FTP clients where you have to log in and then just drag and drop files from one side to the other.

You can get both versions of Transmit for PC and Mac, i use a mac but i also have Transmit on my slow little work PC..

You are right though, it is the same principle, i spent about 2 days trying to find an FTP tool i liked, some only give one window which i find really confusing.

I haven't got round to trying yet, kinda like how I put off sorting out the washing.
