    Default Are There Any Good HTML Editors for Linux PCs

    Hi there,
    Does anyone know if dreamweaver can be used on Linux Pcs and if there are any good html editors for Linux Pcs.

    http://www.aptana.com/ is Dreamweaver without the WYSIWYG bit. I would use that as Dreamweaver is very expensive.

    thanks mate. I bought a notebook in linux and didn't realise there is so little software for linux users.
    I will check this out and hope they give a free trial.

    I beg to differ Sir. Linux offers thousands of applications. And hundreds of these are really very good ones. On HTML editors, there are many.

    Quanta Plus. Bluefish. Screem is another one. I personally have used both Bluefish and Quanta Plus for quite some time. They are fine especially when you have HTML and web scripts (PHP, JS, etc) in the making. Zend/Eclipse for heavier coding and has support for plugins too. This is just to name a few!

    One editor that's quite feature full is Quanta Plus. It doesn't have (or at least I've never used it) a WYSIWYG function, but it knows quite a number of file types and it has a great feature that allows you to open files on a FTP server as if they were on your computer.

    Another alternative is NVU. I've never used it myself, but I've heard about it from a friend who said it's great.
