    Default Editing AVHDC Video

    Hi,

I decided to buy an new video camera. I've gone for a camera that records using AVHDC. My old mini DV camera was a breeze when it came to editing with Adobe Premiere Elememts (version 3) pulling clips off the camera no problem.

The new high resolution format is more demanding. Anyone got any thoughts on PC spec needed and software for editing?

    cheers

Software is a doddle to recommend Red...Sony Vegas Movie Platinum 9.0 fantastic bit of kit and only costs about 50 squid.

    PCwise, what you got?

I run the software on my old presario 6540 (with 2.3ghz proc & 2gb ram) and it runs fine without issue...but I do save the rendered stuff to an external HD to be sure.

    HTH

Downloaded the software, imported the AVHDC video clips, exported to mpeg - perfect. Thanks so much. I thought was going to have to buy some high powered PC just to edit vids from the new camera

It's not so much the money, just the PITA of buying a PC I don't need simply to edit vids

The Sony software works a treat on an old Thinkpad
