Design Review of A1BF

So it must be some weeks since Calibre Designs implemented the new logo and Pixelcraze the custom skin for the forum. This new look, I want to know if it has grown on you?

After designs are close to completion, we urge all our clients to let it rest for a few days, if not weeks. Decisions made on the spot is not good as the brain takes time to absorb the content. So now a good amount of time has passed and I am after a review of the forum's look.

Also, I still visit other sites I used to go to. They are nothing compared to the dynamics of A1BF.

Have Pixelcraze and ourselves achieved the initial brief for the aesthetic creation of the forum?

Anyone close who may have a biased view should comment last.

Sorry about the post - its a designers downfall I am afraid. Looking at everything we do even long after it has been done. :sad1:

I think it looks great and had definitely grown upon me since it was first put in place, Can't think of anything at the minute that would make it better.

If I do, I'll be sure to post post them up,

lol yeah, you are a little biased arent you??!!

It isnt like any other forum I have come across and is heads above the rest, most of which stay pretty much dull as dishwater or make a hash of the design.

Well I'm about as far removed as it gets, so here's my comments! I think the design is very good, the only issue I have is with the colours - (without meaning offence) the blue is a bit nondescript, could do with being more of a royal blue perhaps - needs to be more vibrant is what I'm thinking here. And the green is ok but there's a lot of it, perhaps it would work a little better with the green & blue elements reversed?

One other comment I'd make is re the adverts on the left, they kind of run into each other, there appears to be no definitive break between them other than a few mm of white space - perhaps this was deliberate, in which case stop reading

But I'm certainly no designer and am only a majority of one.....

I look at our "competitors", only natural they look at us - no problem with that. I don't see it as competition though, just alternative communities providing different services
