We have a mystery with one of my blogs. I couldn't get analytics to work, so gawd bless him Ray has been trying but it simply won't work, everything is where it is meant to be but the code simply won't show. He has tried 2 different plugins but nothing, we can only assume it is something to do with the theme coding.

Can anyone be of assistance .... pretty please.

I was under the impression you just paste the tracking code into your footer.php right before the </body> tag?

What do you mean by "it won't show"? When you put the code in there, you get no results in analytics? Or the actual code doesn't appear in your template?

What it is, is that I've using analytics plugins, both of which failed to work - so I downloaded footer.php from Sally's theme with a view to inserting the whole thing manually, but when I opened the footer in Alleycode I got this:

hence I think it's a theme issue?

How did you download it? Sally needs to actually send you the file. You can't open it in your browser and get it that way.

Not sure what Alleycode is either. That might have something to do with it.
