Wordpress coding help - inserting image in sidebar

Me again, needing help again

Right I have my new blogs but want to put an animated gif image in the top of the left sidebar.

I know I have to add the code for the image to the sidebar2 file but have no idea for what the code is.

I want to do it myself so could someone just let me know the code please so I can have a bash.

I don't think so, I can't find one that says displays ads :sad1:

I know it's a simple code Chub but being a daft old cow I deleted the old theme and forgot to write it down

Just having a quick look on Wordpress and it says you can put animated gifs in a text widgit on your sidebar?

Yes, all you need do is put a text widget in then put the img html in there. If you wish you can upload the image to the media library.

It's not as slick as writing a post but as sidebars don't change so often it's not really much of a pain.
