Helup, I have done a new banner for my site and it looks great (in my opinion) but when I press save for web and devices it goes from 714k to 79.51k and looks total pants.
The banner I have at the moment is just 39.6kb and is a .gif file.
How do I save it so I keep the quality but it doesn't take 10 hours to download onto the page?

Try saving and then loading it in different resolutions Sal. Save for web if I remember rightly saves at 72dpi which is pants for some images and IMO is horrific when it comes to gradients. I don't design for the web (not yet anyway) so I'm no expert but I know my gradient background had to be saved in a much higher resolution to get it to look right and I spent ages working out how to get it to look good- saved it as 300dpi jpg in the end but I guess it depends how big the file you're talking about is as mine was only relatively small!
I would try just saving it as a jpeg file rather than choosing the save for web devices option. It should reduce the size but not effect the quality too much

Well it's in as a jpg but it's 3 times the size of the old one. Have done new buttons too but they are also huge compared to the old ones - I just don't see how he got the file sizes so small.
