I have just started updating a few of my blogs to wordpress 2.5 - and I have to say I hate it already!
Cant see what the advantage is so far at least...although extended sidebar text widgets is kind a helpful
Questions/Problems
Is anyone else having problems loading up images in the new "media center" - I load up a few images - but now it locks up "crunching data"! and Im only trying to load a few small graphic details - and as yet I have failed to get a single image to drop into a post, so I am having to insert the URLs by hand which is painful.
Is this a known problem. or am I unlucky?
Is it possible to bulk upload images, and bulk register them in the media center? is there a plugin to do this?
Or as a real kludge, does anyone know which table they are in the SQL - cus I suspect I will find it faster to hack the database than frig around with media center
The image uploader was an issue people were getting with the first release of 2.5.
Have you go the latest version? I used to get that problem and it drove me mad. There was an unofficial fix released which did the job. I'm 99% sure they released a new version of Wordpress though that addressed this issue.

As others have said try the latest release, as 2.5.1 has been working fine for me too.

It should allow you to upload multiple images at once using the Media Library, just use ctrl or shift to select multiple files whilst in the browse view.
Point number 6 on here might be something to do with it? Thats the only thing I can think of from what you have mentioned... http://wordpress.org/support/topic/164999

The actual solution was in point 2 on the WP support site and it was this:
"Also remove any files from the /wp-content/uploads/js_cache directory on your site. This may fix problems with the visual editor as well."
That is the reason it was affecting several blogs on different hosts.
I used to use the "tiny - mce" editor plugin on these sites because it could clean up word files, although have disabled it in recent times, and it leaves a java script that it seems fights with WP 2.5.1
