Well said Ben.
I just got into the habit years ago of always making my own images. If I can't get a good photo, I draw something. If I can't draw something, I might borrow something from the web, change it beyond recognition and regurgitate it as something new. The orange cows on my site were born that way.

Personally, I prefer to either make it (with a camera, photoshop, whatever)
or buy it from istockphoto.com Each pic is about £4 I think
