Banner ad's

Hi ALL

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I did do a search but I couldn't find any info on banner ad's.

I need one = 1000px X 80px 'so they tell me'...

Where do I start?

Can I do it myself???

If I have someone do it for me any idea of the cost???

1000 x 80 wow, thats a big banner?!

Let the pro's optimise it for you or it will be a bit big IMHO.

Standard banners used to be 468 x 60 and nowadays 738ish x 96ish seem to be more common and fit well into the modern day browser set up.

The only drawback I would raise is that if you do go for 1000 your fixed resolution will alienate viewers by adding a blue hor scroll bar if they have a resolution less than this or indeed have favourites sidebar open on a 1024. Peeps do hate that scroll bar!
