    Default Best free website???

    www.thebuzzmag.org.uk

This website cost me "nowt" as we say in Leeds , and I have to say I'm very impressed with it, So if you are in need of some web presence, but you don't have a budget that caters for a proffessionally designed website then you may want to consider using this http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/GetOnline/.

psssssst , this is not a cheap plug promise.

If it meets your objectives, at least for now, then it must be ok.

If it wasn't and it was doing your business an injustice or not working for you in converting, then i'm sure you would get a professional job done instead.

Just wait till you try and get full control of the domain, however - then it can be painful.

And some elements, like the coverage map, do look exceptionally cheap and aren't actually terribly clear.

But I've seen worse! And ultimately, I imagine you're not a very web driven business anyway - so it's probably not a significant issue at the moment.

The website will not be suitable for all business types for sure , but it is ideal for our purposes as very few people will use a search engine to locate us , they will either know about or magazine or they wont.

I do agree with you regarding the map , and it will be replaced this week for sure.

    Thanks for your input .

Well at least its a tidy-looking layout and doesn't bombard you with annoying service-providers' ads.

Yep definitely! However I've seen worse from the cheaper end of some "web design" companies!

If domain ownership is an issue though I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole! Free or not.

Can anyone recommend any good free website design software/providers? I have used NetObject Fusion 9 which I got free in a magazine. Seems OK, but are there any others people can recommend?

    Thanks

It depends what your after but generally 'good' and 'free' don't go together.

To be honest even 'Pro' software like Dreamweaver makes a complete mess of things anyway. HTML, CSS, PHP its just text so all you need is a text editor.

    Go and grab notepad++ http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

or if you want a whole development environment (IDE) Aptana is pretty good.. http://www.aptana.com/

If you can't do it by hand ALL the software, paid or not is going to make a mess of it.
