I've just started using an adapted version of defusion, on a few blogs
http://wp-themes.com/defusion/ It's fixed width and the default font is a bit small, but easily editable by playing with the stylesheets. I've just set up 2 or 3 versions here, http://www.largeconferences.co.uk/news/ http://www.conference-centres.net/news/ this one is with a comment http://www.nrac.co.uk/directory/autu...rics/#comments I adapt them quite a bit, especialy by deleting the link to the home page and setting a static page as the homepage. And also making sure page titles and headers are set up nice for SEO. They might be a bit basic for most people, but are great for SEO

Anyone interested in building themes for the ground up I've heard that Prebuilt is a good tool. I've not used it myself but I'm told it does make things easier.
