    Default Excel help AGAIN!!!

Okay...this time I'm trying to copy prices from an excel spreadsheet into a CSV file. I have a formula in the excel spreadsheet which is basically price plus 50% plus 4, however when I try to copy and paste the prices into the CSV file all I get is the 4 showing in each column. I take it this is because the forula is linked in the original spreadsheet to another number? How can I get around this so I can just copy and paste the prices without having to retype them all in the CSV file???

I know on excel you can "paste special" (right click) then set it to paste values only - not sure if it works in a CSV but worth a try?

    Or

Once you have the info you want to transfer, save the excel file as a complete csv file named MASTER. FILE > SAVE AS > OTHER FORMATS > CSV

Then re-open it, delete what you do not want and save as owt you like and you always have the csv MASTER file for reference and to update.

Using csv is a great way to get your products portable in today's multi cart environment and and an area I am happy to post about as it is one of my specialities ...

    I know geek alert

Sounds like a plan although if I delete the info and it's linked to the prices I do want then all I'll be left with is the number 4 as before if you get my meaning lol!

No, by saving as a CSV file you will remove all formulas and just save the actual figures. So then you can remove the linked info and the calculated column will stay as it should be.

Just to clarify, when you save an excel file to csv, all the formula is gone. All that will save is the result.
