    Default Does Recipricol linking work

I am a bit confused about recipricol linking and how it adds to your website's popularity - or not as the case may be.

    Any advice ?

It does but you have to make sure the pages where your links come from are "relevant" to your website. A flower shop linking to an IT company is not as good as 2 IT company websites linking together

recipricol within niche can be beneficial, recipricol linking for the sake of it can be harmful, depending on what/where the website you have exchanged links from.

If you exchange a link, or basically just have an outgoing link to a site which Google views as spam, then you're going to take a bashing..

    I agree with above.

Just be sure that the other site is actually linking to you, and try to get links from well ranked websites where possible.

Find other similar companies to yours and check them out on ALEXA. From there you'll find all the sites that link to them and this can give you some good ideas for links for your own company.

For the most part if every link on your site was a reciprocal link Google would not necessarily give you extra benefit or PageRank for it.

Best is to have relevant sites link to you, pay them or just ask them.

    Default reciprocal

If you can avoid the reciprocal links is better. You don’t know the sites you link to and then you can have problems in the future.

We get inundated with requests from pet related companies wanting to a reciprocal link, which I forward to my website provider. He then only includes those he feels will be beneficial.
