    Default Google Chrome problems

As I mentioned on another thread, we've having problems with Chrome.

We started to use it as we felt it would be the logical browser to use with Google applications including Gmail, which we use a lot. It's fast, and has some good features.

Initial downside was incompatibility with secure banking sites, and php forum sites. With the latest version, and using on 2 laptops and 3 desktops, there are continuous login problems, especially with Gmail - sometimes 2 or 3 attempts to get past the login password/username sequence.

I've been trying for a couple of months to get an answer from the Google tech forum, but despite some suggestions, no improvement. It doesn't happen with other browsers, for instance. We're using XPpro, SP3 on all machines.

    Anyone else having trouble?

Yup, it is by far my browser of choice but with the continued issues my patience is running every thinner!

Yup, I have similar problems (and use it for the same apps connections).

I think this is a more general issue, as I seem to be getting similar issues with FF, as they are sister products. Like any of these issues, I am sure it will be ironed out in an update or two.

I've given up with Google Chrome; too often 'stuff just doesn't work' (That's not a technical summary, just the observations of a keyboard basher!)

Pretty basic stuff for a browser, though - to login to a site?

I completely gave up with it. Of all the things Google has released, this is one that just didn't work for me...

A fair number of established websites will need modifying to work on Chrome. Which is a shame, because in many ways it is a good browser. But I cant see the banks etc spending money on compatibility at the moment.

Don't understand that. The website were already existing - if Google decides to come in with a new browser then they have to meet current web protocols, not the other way around, surely?

I use all sorts of browsers and have a preference for Chrome but you do find that you have to go to IE for some things - mostly banking.

I actually like IE8 - it seems to get a lot of things right. If you can only use one, I'd be forced to pick IE8 simply because everything works with it.
