Default Windows question

Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong place, but I cannot seem to find an appropriate section :confused1:

Hubby has just brought a new lap top which comes with the new windows version. This however, does not have any email. He has downloaded his Outlook Express but it's minus the email!

Any ideas please?

Windows 7 does not come with e-mail software as such, you have to use Windows Live or a 3rd party e-mail client.
I've got Windows Live set up on mine with all my e-mail accounts set up and quite happy with that, its a little different to Outlook which you may be used to but still relatively easy.

Oulook, will not know your email details, you have to create an account within Outlook, for that you will need to know your email login details, and your POP3/SMTP account details.

whilst you're at this point Nina, why don't you switch over to something like Gmail. I know you have had Outlook problems before. Maybe it's a hint to try something different!

Just tried to create an email account with Firefox, thunderbird, but they want an email address, which takes me back to my original question :confused1:
