Sony ericson satio!
I have had nothing but trouble with Vodafone in the past two years, first with the Nokia N95, then the Nokia N96! Customer relations were non existant and I asked for my mac code as soon as my contract expired last year. However, a member of their staff suggested I try the sony erikson satio, which was he suggested, 'perfect' for my needs. They also set up a special deal!
I've had the satio now since they came out and once again, had nothing but trouble. Turning itself off, keyboard probs etc. Ive since learned that sony erikson actually recalled these phones since they were found to have software problems, yet mine had not been recalled by vodafone!
Having contacted vodafone yesterday, during which my phone fell out 5 times, resulting in broken connections, I was informed that they no longer stocked this phone due to the probs their customers had experienced, however, they were only prepared to send mine back to sony erikson in order to have a software upgrade. Had they do this? I thought that my contract was with vodafone not sony erikson and if they no longer stock the darn thing due to technical probs, why on earth do they not offer me another model!
I now want out of the contract with this company and wondered if anyone else has this phone, and if so, what have their providers done ?

Put your foot down with Vodafone. If its broke they need to replace or repair and have a duty to provide you with a working fone.
The SE Satio has been a nightmare from what I have read, and so you need to go back to Vodafone and strip one off them in no uncertain terms and refuse to get off the line and demand to speak to a manager. It really does work if you make a scene on the fone, as they just want rid of Mrs Angry ASAP!

Believe me, I have written so many letters etc to vodafone over the past two years, they are appalling to deal with! They have offered to send the phone away for a software update, but my point is that my contract is with THEM, and if they are nno longer selling the darn things, they should offer me another handset.
Mind you, I have no idea which handset would be the best for me either! I need a good video and camera, since I do a lot of uploading to my computer.
I have heard that the iphone is bad for media!

Hi nina
I use T Mobile for my phone and they've been brilliant i have a google G1 phone, and its great for emails and internet.
I've had the G1 phone for the 13 months so i can't wait til may to upgrade to the newer version.
T Mobile have been great, and i've been with them for the past 10 years, even from before they were called t mobile, i think it was 1-2-1 ??

I've been with T-Mobile since 2003 and although had a few annoying times, generally and overall they have been good.
Some of their call handlers are good and some are crap. I have now learned to just hang up when you are getting nowhere, call back and you will get a new call handler and usually a better response in helping you. If not, rinse and repeat until all sods are gone
I'd say, base giving your custom for a mobile phone contract just like you would any other service.

Its interesting comments, since I have heard from carphone warehouse that the best provider and coverage is O2! Orange however, seen as equally useless as vodafone!
I wish I coud work out which handset to get!

Perhaps Carphone Warehouse have a vested interest to say that.

I have just been speaking with a representative from Vodafone's customer support section, after being passed from dept to dept.
He was sooo rude and actually slammed the phone down on me, all because I asked why they no longer provided these phones for new customers, and yet refused to exchange Vodafone customers who already have the darn things!
Am in the process of writing to customer complaints now grrrr
