I noticed this in the WP control panel yesterday. hmmmmm last time I upgraded it was complicated. I'm not sure if I dare touch it again!

This link has instructions. Always make sure you do a backup before upgrading.

I spent 3 days last week trying to upgrade but not to 2.5 and now the buggers come out with a new one!!

However on day 3 I found the ultimate idiots guide to upgrading wordpress and it was easy peasy lemon squeazy if you follow this:

If I get any responses to my thread about the effects of splitting my blog I might try 2.5 on the new one and will report back.

It is great, the difference with it is it lists the files to delete, instead of just saying delete the other files, that is where I was going wrong for so long. Hope it works for you.

Think I will wait till 2.5.1 or above is released as there are bound to be some bugs in the new release.

Probably a good plan. I decided to live dangerously this time. The new interface - and it's very different - is sooooooo sweet.

I downloaded WP for the first time a few weeks back. Finally got round to installing it the other day, of course as soon as i finish installing it, i open the first page and the first thing i see, "there is a newer version of wordpress available"

So even before learing how to use it, or even tweaking any of the settings, i went through the process of upgrading, i must say it was a doddle. Maybe because i had an empty install though.

The control panel is completely different though.

is it very different in a good or bad way? Will an idiot understand it?

An idiot needs to know these things
