Default Urgent help required

My computer has crashed again and need urgent advice.

It crashed two weeks ago and would not start. It gave me 4 options, one of which was to start in safe mode etc etc. We tried all options and eventually paid £70.00 to retrieve all the data. It has been wrking okay until yesterday morning, when I tried to start it and got the same page i.e. windows cannot start etc. etc.

I have no access to my email and I am using my husband laptop right now which I HATE. Also have a lovely little puppy, which we collected yesterday, and I cannot really leave him for any length of time.

My questions are can I get access to my email from my husbands laptop, to be going on with, and if so how? and will I have to pay another £70.00 to have it fixed?

Really need your help guys as very :sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1: at the moment.

well if you paid £70 to have the computer fixed I doubt it.But if the money was just for data retrievel then probably.

Yes it was Alvin. We haven't even had time to back it up yet, so what would you advise? Do you think the tower is knack....d In which case, should we get another, and will we have to pay another £70.00 to retrieve the dta again and get it working? Or are the company liable?

If you can get internt access you should just be able to log on to access your email as you wouold normally from your own pc.

I have 3 websites and 6 business email addresses from those doamins, and I also have a perosnal email address with gmail (googlemail). I then forward all 6 business email addresses to my one gmail address and therefore can log in to gmail from anywhere and read them, as let's face it, gmail is less likely to fail or have problems, than my other email providers. I also find it easier just to log in to the one place and see all my emails as they come in.

I also back up with Carbonite for a mere £25 a year, and that covers what I need, though we got a half price subscription for the desktop PC so I can back up different stuff there if I need to as well.

Seems best starting with new gear than paying to fix something that is not removing the initial problem. Unless you can claim your £70 back - let's face it, they didn't fix the problem did they?!

Yes, I am beginning to think you are right. Trouble is that we did not get the chance to back up our files, so it would mean losing all our data!

Any idea the price of a new tower, and what sort is best?

Who is your internet service provider/hosting company? You may be able to access it via webmail.

To download your emails, do you use another software ie outlook or seamonkey?

Are you talking about getting to emails you have already received or
new emails?
If new, just set your email account up on the laptop.
(remembe to delete it again once you have the old machine set back up)
