Just fix your design layout at the appropriate pixelage (sic). Point to note that if a user is browsing at 1024 pixels and you have designed at that resolution then they will get left/right scroll due to the scrollbars. Either fix it at about 980px or use 100% width which might look odd in wide screen.

A quick Google tells me that both the Viewsonic VA2216 and the BenQ FP222WH use the TN Panel, which to be honest is cheap and nasty and doesn't give great blacks and certainly wont be able to reproduce very much of the 32 bit colour range.
For a designer you would need to be putting your hand in your pocket and spashing out on a monitor with either a S-PVA or S-IPS panel
