Need help with Network and Static IP addresses.
I am completly lost with this Static IP address thingy! So need serious help setting this up.
I have 5 Static IP addresses, I need to set one up on my CCTV DVR so that I can have remote viewing, then not sure what to with the other 4! Have been on the blower to BT who are very hard to understand. One thing that is happening is that the router IP address is still dynamic as everytime I switch on/off the IP changes. Should this not be static? Can anyone help me set all these Static IP addresses up?

Yes it would need to be static, I believe your ISP can set that. I trust none of your set up is on dial up?

BT 2WIRE, but its not here, its at the unit.
A BT bloke did some fiddling and set something up on the settings using remote viewing on my PC, not sure what he did though!

If I think of anything I will let you know, but I suspect you need to get on to BT / your ISP again.

This has been all sorted now, was on the phone to the BT engineers for 90 minutes! They got the whole thing set up at the end. Great service.
