I know everyone hates M$, but if you have Microsoft Outlook 2007 and access to an exchange server you can use the business contacts outlook extension, which is basically a stripped down version of dynamics... very nice!
I dont know if you are still looking for some software but I would recommend Clarity Professional. It is designed for small to medium sized companies, and therefore is easy to use, flexible and very cost effective.
I have used FreeCRM._ _ _ which was a disaster. When you go to the professional version, $15, they simply fleece you as you can't stop the monthly bills, even though they say you can. LJ
Thanks for comments. Unfortunately Clarity wasnt web based and I really need a web based system for multiple users at remote locations, plus we all need to access each others leads and accounts at any one time.
Have done a some evaluation on around 8 systems mentioned here and some other forums and have to say that so far we are getting on really well with Zoho as web based, very easily and extensively customisable (100 fields) and the auto-import process is lovely Certainly makes my job easier! There is still quite a lot of functionality that we havent used yet but the bits we have used have been fab so far! (fingers crossed it stays that way).
Having gone through this process now it seems really apparent that there is no one-size-fits-all and that different systems will suit different businesses but defo thumbs up from me for Zoho. (I should as them for referral scheme now... lol)
Hi a friend is using a web based CRM tool that has content written into it. The bit that sounded interesting was that it used maps. I will mail him for the name. LJ
