Directory Software

My partner wants to create a website that will have a directory of people offering a service, is there a programme/script (I'm not techy enough to know the correct term

) that is good for producing such a site?

I don't run any directories but my understanding is that php Link Directory - phpLD is one of the leading scripts going with prices from only $25

I run this one with Joomla! (free) with the Sigsiu.NET add on (free).

I have been using phpLD on 2 sites now and my experience have been good . as long as you know what niche your directory is going to offer , the rest is all doable by phpLD . If you need any help , you can let me know .

I used phpLD for a long time before hand coding it, and it is very nice, with a big community behind it too.

Only advice I would give is to make sure it doesnt fall into the trap of just looking like every other phpld installation. try to do something a bit different.

also make sure you have the niche as noone needs another standard directory

Thanks, I think he is trying the one that RedEvo suggested, I've switched off to be honest as he is doing my head in, LOL.
