We have broad band in the dolls house shop with talktalk.

It connects

but goes off line after 10 minutes.

had BT down to check the line.

Talk talk say its fine.

running through a new laptop using XP.

always does the same thing connects straight away and goes off after 10-20 minutes.

DOZEN MARS BARS FOR THE WINNER.

This happened to us, or at least something similar, we checked the router logs to see basically that the connection was being dropped every few minutes and reconnecting.

In our situation is was basically down to us using adsl max, basically with adsl max it determines what speed your line can take, then adjusts the setting accordingly. With ours there was some interference and so the line kept disconnecting and slowing down to try and stabilise. It was a case of calling the ISP and they got BT to reset the line.

Not necessarily the same thing, but the symptoms appear similar - might be worth checking?

more info on ADSL Max - http://www.newnet.co.uk/broadband/adslmaxfaq.php

Also check for any malware on the pc - this kind of thing can on occasion be caused by an autodialler trying to connect with a modem!

if not any of these id keep badgering the isp!
