I may be blonde Mr Trish but it wasn't rocket science I assure you- not even for me! What's put you in such a jolly mood anyways...I take it the wife has been compliant tonight???
I've tried changing the spooling settings such as printing direct to printer and every
combination I can think off. Should I try reinstalling Vista as sugested by the technoctian in PCW?
We have vast experience of printers, HP are the ones we recommend to everyone and they sometimes do have problems with their drivers, even the new ones.
saying its a budget printer isn't an excuse to be fair, any printer should be sufficient for the job and 16mb should be fine, if it uses it all it should only slow down the print not stop it altogether.
if you print directly to the printer does it print less than if you spool it?
have you got another PC or laptop you can test from, preferably without Vista on?
re-installing Vista is not the answer, that is the type of thing said by someone who doesn't have a clue. the chances are very slim that you have a corruption on Vista that is specific to your printer, more than likely the drivers, or that PCW didn't actually test the printer with the file sizes you have. It could also be a Vista problem but re-installing an operating system with a bug in it is only going to reintroduce the bug.
if you need help in the first place call HP as PCW will now probably not help after this time. borrow a neighbours or friends laptop and try that first yourself, one with XP on and one with Vista on, that should give you an answer as to whether its the driver or not.
I'll send HP an email and see what they say. I've spent so much time with this print that if I can't resolve the issue in the next day or two I will sell it.
I notice today that people are sell them for £119 - £139 on ebay so hopefully someone will give me £79 for it.:sad1:
