Sorry guys but can someone please help me out again before I lash this thing through the window. Firstly IE7 won't let me download anything- it prompts me with the security window which says run, save or cancel as usual but when I click either save or run nothing happens??? I'm able to download using FF though so why is this happening?
Next issue...I downloaded the drivers for my xerox 2400 scanner earlier but it wouldn't work so I looked on the Xerox site which told me to uninstall the drivers again and then reinstall the drivers for Vista (64 bit). I uninstalled the drivers and then dowloaded the drivers in FF (for the reasons stated above) and they dowloaded fine but now I've come to install them I'm getting this window that says 'Launch Application, this link needs to be opened with an application'. Then I get an option to choose an application to open it with. What does this mean and what do I open it with. Sorry to be dumb but everything was so much easier with XP and I'm proper lost!!!
xerox - did u reboot between uninstalling the software and re-installing?
usually with xerox drivers you have to uninstall, reboot, install and then plug the scanner in and let windows pick it up
Yep, done that and windows just says installing drivers for device, then says none found and insert the CD that came with your device. The drivers on the CD are for XP though which is what the Xerox site told me to uninstall whicleads me back to where I started in that I've downloaded the Vista drivers but can't open the downloaded file to install it!
Glad you got it sorted Nickie - I had nothing but trouble with Vista when I tried it - nearly all the problems I had were driver related - so I went back to XP Pro
