Im learning dreamweaver (slowly!) but am a bit stuck. When I used frontpage I could insert an image and the select different areas of that image to go to different pages / links (think it was called hot spots or something) can I do this in Dreamweaver? Ive been looking but I can't see it - sorry if I'm being thick!!!

If you select your image and then look at the properties box right at the bottom of the screen, you will see the word 'map' and then some shapes, a square, circle and another shape!
If you say click on the square, your cursor should change when you hover over an the image, click and draw the box. When you have done this the properties box should change to 'hot spot'. From here you can set then link to where it goes when it's clicked on!
If you need more help you can try me on msn.
aarrggghh! a few days old - the lady may have already sorted it!
this is often referred to as an image map. Very simple to do but not google friendly.
I'd go as far as to say you're probably using Dreamweaver to its full WYSIWYG ability in which case hotspots/image maps will be the least of the google friendly issues; tables are likely to be the biggest issue generated from using the visual dreamweaver interface. That being said dreamweaver will provide you with a great overview of how code is put together whilst also giving you an overview of how to edit code in the future.
Sitepoint do a number of excellent html/css books and there are a number of dreamweaver specific books so i'd suggest you check them out!
I currently use dreamweaver, and have experienced no problems inseting images, but couldn't fathom out your question .
I do like working with dreamweaver though, since its sooo easy. Just wish I could put an RSS feed on my blog though, until I can get my new site up and running .

It seems database driven so it should be possible to create a feed without much hassle. If you want I'd be happy to take a look at it for you.
