Grrrrr, I was hoping to install Joomla today (not that I've got the first clue how to do it) and after Dave pointed me to the help pages my son suggested I download the FTP extension for FF. 'Yeah, well that's pretty simple' I said and opened FF only to find it's stopped working. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've tried downloading it again but it's not having any of it- I just get an error message saying 'Firefox has stopped working: a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available'.
I don't know if this has got anything to do with it but I had to do a system restore the other day after the latest windows update was causing all kinds of problems leading to yet more errors when I tried to shut the PC down. FF was installed well before the restore point so this shouldn't have affected it- or has it??? Here we go yet AGAIN!!!
I think the best place to start is to see if Firefox will open in Safe Mode. To do this click Start (or on Vista that round thing), then Run. In the run box type firefox -safe-mode
I'd then disable all the Extensions, and turn them on one by one until it crashes again, which will hopefully help identify any problem extension.
