Default Something has happened...

to my pc!!

A brief description...I updated my Norton antivirus, after completing received application errors during shut down (ccApp and ccsvchst.exe) Upon Googling found Norton to be the problem. I contacted them and they 'fixed'....

My problem remains in that my pc now takes approximately 6 minutes to start up and shut down. I reported this to Norton and they said it was due to large files on my pc. I have checked my pc and can find no such files....and this has happened all of a sudden, so looks suspect to me.

Any ideas please guys?

Sounds about right with Norton, My imediate suggestion is uninstall Norton and either download AVG free edition or invest in Nod32 Antivirus which I believe Andy Trish can provide you a superb deal,

Thank you ever so for your quick responses Huggy and Simon. Am going to shut down and find info as per Huggy's response, followed by Simons and rid myself of Norton 'Anti-Virus' - an ironic name if ever there was one!

At least its not an AV that comes with viruses and then says you've got viruses and it will cost you £30/£40/£50 to remove them?

I mean the spammy versions, where a website pop up appears claiming to be scanning your computer when it actually isnt - social engineering at its best

I changed the scan/update times on AVG to 6pm when I know I am least likely to be busy.
