I prefer a desktop as I spend about 18 hours at day at the computer and get neck ache with the laptop but because I have to fly back and forth I have to use a laptop :sad1:

I use a laptop as a Desktop replacement - I have the option of docking it with the keyboard/mouse/monitor etc or using it anywhere else in the house/office

we have both. in my experience many laptops don't get past a year if you move them around a lot, as either the power connection goes, or the power/hinge screen connection. Both of which are expensive to fix. As a result we buy inexpensive laptops and don't expect them to last beyond a year.
There is one brand (mac?) which use a magnetic thingy on the screen/hinge thing (very technical me!!) but this means that there is no wire to break.
Desktops also seem to be a lot easier to adapt than laptops, but that's just my experience.
