Question Blue Screen Of Death in XP

Wasn't sure which one to post this thread in help and feedback or timeout.

Need help in trying to solve a problem with another PC.

It keeps crashing and starts to physically dump!

this is what's coming up after recovering from the serior error

Hiya,

Have you installed any new hardware into your computer? like memory or hard drive upgrade? If so that may be the cause, if not then it sounds like a memory problem - unless you know the in's and out's of a computer I would suggest getting your local computer repair guy to have a look

Norton has also found to be a cause in some cases:

Would also suggest you upgrade to Service Pack 3 (http://update.microsoft.com)

I would also suggest this post to be moved to IT

Thanks HuggyBear, no hardware or anything so probably an issue with faulty RAM
Wanted to see how other peeps went on with SP3 before I download.

I had this with my laptop. serveral complete wipes, sp updates, new ram, new memory, I am still getting this. The more programs running, the more crashes I get.

You had a BSOD? or a BSOD with the error codes stated above?

BSOD, regularly, physical memory dump. I usually have pulled my hair out and don't tend to read the codes because i'm too busy swearing at the time!!!!

LOL!

A memory dump is as it says - the contents of your memory dumped to file
If you zip up the files in your C:\Windows\Minidump or C:\Windows\dump folder and attach them to this thread or PM a link to a hosted copy - I will have a look at them for you

Also, have you ever heard your hard drive spin down whilst using it?
