When standing in my local post office they have a small flat screen tv showing diff adverts for local businesses.
Is this created using powerpoint do you think ?
Its been a long while since i've used powerpoint and quite fancy doing something similar in my shop altho the ad will be relevant only to my business.
If i created a rolling ad using powerpint can i then burn the file to disc and play it in a dvd player ?
Im more than happy to do it myself as i like messing about with designing software, only thing is im not sure if its powerpoint they use or a diff image slide show software.
Your best bet would be to create the images as nice hi res ones in an image program.
On my mac, I would then import these into iMovieHD to create a photo slideshow, add some transition effects, get the timing right, and then burn to a dvd.
You should be able to get similar software on Windows

Altho i will have images, i also want to create text to flash up plus i want to control how the text appears, such as rolling from the right, stop then roll out to the left, perhaps fade in and fade out etc.....
I want to have a still image say of a car but have different text appearing in one ad for the readers, then for a new ad have another still image with moving text.
PP is the wrong program. Most movie maker programs will let you do text transitions etc. I'm clueless to windows based programs I'm afraid, so I'll let someone else answer!

I've had a busy day today and I have just logged into this.
Im sure that Khalid knows what he is doing and it sounds like a good plan. Powerpoint offers nothing really fancy. Its all a bit flat imo.
The more technical method is to create a showreel. I have a DIY guide but its a lengthy process. For any who wants to teach yourself on how to create your own showreel then I can have this emailed to them.
