Default Recommend a mono laser printer

It's time to replace my trusty HP LJ1100 with a newer, faster model. What I like about the LJ1100 is that both the paper input trays are open, so it is very easy to feed in different sheets of paper for different printing tasks.

Can anyone recommend one similar to this? I don't need colour, but it has to be laser and it has to be at least 15ppm.

I won't sell you anything, but I agree with the recommendation of the P2015, I've put these into two previous client sites and they've been very happy (to date). The best price I could find quickly was ebuyer, where they're doing the duplex (two sided) P2015 for a ridiculous £193 inc VAT. I can't post links yet so go to ebuyer dot com and search for product 118906. It's USB only so if you want it networked it'd be more, but if you don't need it networked (and you can share this printer from your PC!) then this is definitely your best option!

They both look like fine printers, but I would prefer something with open paper input feeds. As well as printing to standard plain paper I am also constantly printing to different pre-printed tax forms and letterheads, and if I had to open and close a heavy paper draw each time it would be a lot of fiddling about.

It's OK, it handles that too! I think the first place I used these (a University) that had to be able to sheet feed pre-printed letterhead paper. If you check out the manual on the HP site (I can't post it, still haven't hit 15 posts!) you'll see tray 1 is a 50 sheet general purpose input tray, it pulls down at the front, no need to mess around with a heavy input tray! Let me know if you've got any more questions. I can PM you the URL for the manual if you want to check it out in detail.
