Default Printer help please

Hi

I have a HP colour laserjet CM1015 MFP printer

I have the following problem:

Printing last night it decided to print a pink line down everything, looked at the cartridges and it seem that the pink one is leaking. (Other half refuses to buy proper HP cartridges so they are re-conditioned).

However now that his highness has poked around with it and lost his temper at it it just keeps telling me I have a paper jam in tray 2. I have checked everything and the only place there is paper is in the paper tray.

The pink cartridge has a bit that has fallen off, it covers a green roller inside the cartridge, would this be what is causing the problem.

I would love to take it back to a shop but it was a birthday present off Martin and he got it off Ebay

The cartridge needs replacing, if you did buy that first hand (regardless of source) I'd suggest contacting the supplier and asking for a free replacement. They might not go for it, but it's worth a try! The paper jam is possibly a paper sensor fault, or a build up of paper dust on the sensor. If you've got one, try blowing the area around the paper path at the back of the printer with the compressed air. It's also worth taking the paper tray out and putting back in and making sure that it's seated correctly.

It is possible all the pink print dust that is blcoking the sensor, off to go and have a blow

I hate printers or anything technical come to that, I just need to switch it on and for it to work, anything else then I shout at it

Paper might actually be stuck inside on the roller

Have you tried taking all 4 toners out (and the drum if required) and looking in?

Or if there is a back door use that...

My advice would be to:

1. Get said printer.
2. Lift it gently to carefully not disturb the cartridges.
3. Carrying with both hands.
4. Walk to nearest window.
5. Lob out of window with a smile on your face.
6. Come back to centre of the room.
7. Rub your hands together.
8. Find his Highness.
9. Ask him to turn round.
10. Raise righ leg as high as possible.
11. Kick him up the arse - hard
12. Go to kitchen cupboard.
13. Grab bar of Galaxy
14. Eat the whole lot and enjoy.

Now, seriously. I now only use CIS systems for ink. But suggest you replace the cartridges all of them and start again. Maybe a chip fault saying that there is something faulty when there isn't (if that makes sense!) This happend to me when I used cartridges and worked when I found the offending cartridge.

Lots of luck
